Learn About Our “Age Friendly City” on Wednesday, February 20

The Tucker Civic Association’s Lifelong Community Committee will meet on Wed., February 20th at 7:00 pm at HearthSide on Lynburn.
Our guest speaker is Myrtle Habersham, the lead coordinator of the Macon Bibb W.H.O. (World Health Organization) Age Friendly City project. Macon was the first city in the US to be designated an Age Friendly City.  AARP supports the projects and will be lending support to Tucker.
Myrtle will explain the process that begins after the city is given the designation.  She will share ideas, obstacles, and support that has helped Macon maintain the W.H.O. designation.
Tucker has already done a lot of the work but there is still work to be done.
Guy Van Ort will discuss the Yellow Dot program that was rolled out in Tucker.  This is a GA Dept. of Public Heath safety program that the Lifelong Community Committee is  promoting and supporting.
Plan to be at the meeting and learn more about being a part of a World Health Organization Age Friendly City.
