TCA is working with DeKalb County Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson (Super District 7) and Battle Law PC, who is representing the applicant, to inform the surrounding community of this potential rezoning. A public participation meeting is being hosted by TCA on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, 7:00 pm at the City of Tucker City Hall Annex, 4228 First Ave., Tucker, GA. Here’s a brief description of the proposed rezoning – note the subject property is outside the Tucker city limits:
3964 CHAMBLEE-TUCKER RD, DORAVILLE, GA 30340 (Commission District 01, Super District 07) Application of Atlanta Sanaton Associates c/o Battle Law, P.C. to rezone property from R-100 (Residential Medium Lot) zoning district to OIT (Office-Institutional Transitional) zoning district to allow for a place of worship. The property is located on the northeast side of Chamblee Tucker Road, approximately 130 feet north of Bolissa Drive, at 3964 Chamblee Tucker Road in Doraville, Georgia. The property has approximately 92 feet of frontage along Chamblee Tucker Road and contains 1.48 acres. Aerial of the subject property:
This application is slated to come before the DeKalb County Community Council 1 next Wednesday, December 14, 2022, 5:30 pm (Agenda https://www.dekalbcountyga.gov/sites/default/files/2022-11/December142022Agenda.pdf)
Please come to this meeting with an open mind and questions that can be answered by Battle Law and the applicant. There will be a presentation explaining the need for the rezoning and opportunities for questions and comments from the public. This meeting will be presented in “hybrid” format: in person and available by Zoom (see credentials below) – the meeting will be recorded for later posting to the TCA website.
