Proactive Planning, Land Use and Zoning (PPLUZ)

The Proactive Planning, Land Use and Zoning Committee is responsible for proposing and implementing proactive planning and economic development activities in collaboration with other organizations working for the betterment of the Tucker Community. The committee should monitor county land use, planning, zoning, and related issues, informing the TCA membership and affected neighborhoods about these issues and recommending policies and positions. The committee is charged with promoting a strategic plan for Tucker, facilitating its review at least every ten years.

PR/Communications Committee
Leslie Richardson, Chair
The PR/Communications Committee is responsible for developing and implementing a marketing and communications plan. This plan involves releasing information to TCA and the general public about issues affecting the Tucker community. The committee is “TCA’s First Voice.” It distributes a hard copy monthly newsletter, The Tucker Tribune, sends monthly news to the Tucker Times, sends out press releases and manages other publicity for TCA. The chair sends out email “blasts” twice a month to keep residents abreast of local events and vets applications from non-TCA organizations that wish to utilize the communication resources of TCA. The committee chair administers the website and is responsible for its content.

Public Safety

This committee works with local police and code enforcement officials to help keep Tucker residents safe and aware of public safety issues.

The Parks and Greenspace Committee
Pamela Martel McNall, Chair
The Parks and Greenspace Committee is responsible for monitoring Tucker parks and recreation areas, working with DeKalb County Parks Department to provide support for the beautification and use of these parks; preserving our current greenspaces for the future of our community, and encouraging and promoting work and play in Tucker.

Community Building and Membership
Anita Stoltzfus and Gloria Ryan, Co- Chairs
The Community Building and Membership Committee is responsible for building a strong and active membership base for the association and fostering a participatory citizenry dedicated to the long-term well-being of the Tucker community.
The committee is charged with initiating a variety of activities that will interest, involve, or inform diverse groups within the community. The committee should establish and maintain, in partnership with the district representatives, a network of neighborhood groups such as Neighborhood Watch, garden clubs, etc.
